New 2017 Dodge Challenger at Newark Chrysler Jeep Dodge for Newark, DE
Harkening back to the heyday of the muscle car, the 2017 Dodge Challenger is a two-door coupe with some retro-inspired flare. While this throw-back design helps to maintain the Challenger's identity and history as a muscle car, its modern equipment and updated features help to keep up with the times. The Challenger is a performance vehicle first and foremost and this is demonstrated by its four available engine choices, each one more powerful than the last.
Under the Challenger's Hood
The Dodge Challenger is a performance-oriented coupe and has four engine options to maintain its muscle car persona. The first available engine is the 3.6-liter V6 engine which can generate 305 horsepower and 268 pound-feet of torque. After the 3.6-liter engine, all other engines are V8 engines each one more powerful than the one before. The first of the V8s is a 5.7-liter V8 engine which can produce up to 372 horsepower and 268 pound-feet of torque. The 6.4-liter V8 engine is up next and can generate 485 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque. The last available option is also the most powerful. The supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine can produce 707 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque. All Challengers come standard with an eight-speed automatic transmission but there is an optional manual transmission. Almost every trim level has a different engine coupled with it.

A Uconnect 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system consolidates many of the Challenger's controls into one intuitive location. All of the design elements of the Challenger come together to support its performance-oriented nature while also contributing a look and feel to match.
