The new 2017 Jeep Cherokee is available in five different trim levels which includes the Sport, Latitude, Trailhawk, Limited, and the Overland. The standard equipment for the base Sport trim includes 17-inch steel wheels, LED running lights and taillights, remote keyless entry, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, cruise control, height-adjustable front seats, sliding and reclining seats with 60/40-split folding seatbacks, and a six-speaker audio system. The standard engine would be the 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that is able to produce 184 horsepower and 171 lb.-ft torque. There is also a 3.2-liter V6 engine that is optional on most Cherokees and a nine-speed automatic transmission is standard for both engines. There is a choice of either front-wheel drive or four-wheel drive with either engine options, with the exception of the Trailhawk that is four-wheel drive only. There is also the Active Drive I 4WD system that is standard on the four-wheel drive Sport, Latitude, and Limited trims. The Active Drive I 4WD requires no input from the driver and comes with a Selec-Terrain dial that allows for different terrain modes. For the Trailhawk and Overland trim levels, the more rugged Active Drive II system come standard and is optional on the Limited trim level. The Active Drive II system features low-range gearing and a locking rear differential along with the additional Rock mode for Selec-Terrain dial.
