New 2017 RAM 2500 at Newark Chrysler Jeep Dodge for Newark, DE
Much is new for the 2017 Ram 2500 and you will absolutely be happy to witness all of its amazing updates and clever points of interest. There is an fully brand new 2017 trim aptly-named the 'Power Wagon', which takes a significant design cue from a legendary trim (created almost 40 years ago) for its grille, bumpers, interior, wheels, and on its graphics. 2017 heralds a new '4x4 Off-road Package', which debuts a list of critical functions and other items (optional on 2500 Crew and Mega Cab 4x4 setups), that contains: tow hooks, a transfer case skid plate, hill-descent control, Bilstein shocks, on- or off-road tires (18-inch or optional 20-inch), wheel flares, a limited-slip differential, and a decal symbolizing its off-road nature. Air quality benefits as standard policy by removing pollutants with new, interior filters that are set at with five-microns for all trims. The Limited, Laramie Longhorn and Laramie trims get the 6.4-liter HEMI engine as standard. On Laramie Longhorn and Limited 4x4 trims, Bilstein monotube shocks are standard-- helping achieve again the best-in-class ride experience and vehicle handling drivers are accustomed to.
Under the 2500's Hood
The Ram 2500 is really pushing away from rivals with its use of innovative designs for optional rear suspension systems, and on the 2500 there can be a rear spring-based 5-link coil system, a class-pioneer, or an air suspension system. That said, it can tow at maximum up to 17,980 pounds when properly equipped and arranged. The standard engine is the best-in-class 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 gas engine, with 383 horsepower at 5,600 rpm, and 400 lb-ft of torque. That engine uses variable-valve timing (VVT), and also could be found with a bi-fuel CNG variant-- with identical engine specs/output. There is a burly 6.4-liter HEMI V-8 engine that also brings a best-in-class title (gas), with 410 horsepower (at 5,600 rpm) and 429 lb-ft of torque (at 4,000 rpm). It comes with Fuel Saver Technology cylinder deactivation and VVT. If you are looking for more towing power, you can instead pick the 6.7-liter Cummins Turbo Diesel engine (with 6-speed automatic transmission), which attains 370 horsepower and 800 lb-ft of torque, depending on application. This exact engine sees 350 horsepower/660 lb-ft of torque if put with a manual transmission, which gives more control of the shift timing to the driver.
Design of RAM 2500
The Ram Heavy Duty line is found in 8 trims: the base-level Tradesman, and then the SLT, Laramie, Laramie Power Wagon, Big Horn/Lone Star, Limited, Power Wagon, and the Laramie Longhorn. Within the cabin, drivers will see the industry's leading infotainment system in the Uconnect touchscreen system with navigation/Bluetooth, whether the 3.0-inch, 5.0-inch or 8.4-inch screen depends on trim and package. Arrangements of the 2017 RAM 2500 can be either 2WD or 4WD, but not all can be 4WD. For choices of body style, you can choose between Crew Cab (long or short bed), Regular Cab (long bed only), and Mega Cab (short bed only). Standard on all trims are variable/intermittent windshield wipers, front one-touch up/down (Crew Cab and Mega Cab configurations), power door locks (optional on Tradesman), automatic headlamps, power windows, and a 12-volt DC aux plug. Possible on all trims is the clever RamBox cargo management system and also an eye-catching tonneau cover (except on CNG-engine 2500's).

What type of suspension does the RAM 2500 use?
The Ram 2500 provides a choice of two rear suspensions: a 5-link coil system or an air suspension system.
This is probably the truck you have been searching for to enable all of your towing and hauling needs- plus, it's chock full of safety! Standard across the trims are Brake Assist, electronic roll mitigation, Ready Alert Braking, all-speed traction control, electronic stability control (ESC), Hill-start Assist, Rain Brake Support, and trailer-sway control. There are standard four-wheel antilock disc brakes, a safety-ensuring tire pressure monitor (TPM) system, and a Sentry Key engine immobilizer. Let's talk airbags: RAM has got you protected with standard supplemental side-curtain airbags, multistage front airbags, and supplemental front-seat side-mounted airbags. An electronic trailer brake controller is also standard on all trims minus the Tradesman trim. Ram has a plethora of titles to its credit and now has several held very tightly, like the "Longest-Lasting Line of Pickups" title! Optional on any trim is the DOT-certified Roadside Safety Kit which has a DOT fire extinguisher, two red vinyl flags, three reflecting triangles, and some spare fuses. Seems like overkill now, but that's not what you are thinking when you actually use them!
