Which safety features are available with the Cherokee?

Safety is one of the number one things you look for when attempting to buy a vehicle. This is especially important in vehicles where you use them not only for your commute to work, but potentially off-roading and driving through uneven terrain. Some of these safety features include the standard rearview camera and rearview camera monitor. These are just two among the over 70 potential safety and security features that you can choose. You can also add some of these optional features such as automatic parking, lane-keep assist, forward collision warning, and blind-spot monitoring. Those features can be found on three of the trim options, the Limited, the Trailhawk, and the Overland.

What are some of the different trims?

The best way to make the Cherokee the best vehicle for you and your life is to choose a trim level with the right amount of features. This all starts with the base features that you will receive regardless of whether or not you choose to upgrade your Cherokee further. Latitude, the new base trim, offers Bluetooth, 60/40-split folding seatbacks, a rearview camera, and a 5-inch touchscreen. The Trailhawk trim gives you all-wheel drive, skid plates, all-terrain tires, and extra clearance from the ground to allow better capability off-roading. Safety features are not skimped with this trim either, and that is proved with the addition of parking sensors, rear cross-traffic detection, blind-spot monitoring, and dual-zone automatic climate control. Another trim is the Latitude Plus, which adds a leather-wrapped steering wheel, interior ambient lighting, and leather inserts. Limited, a higher end trim, gives you more options, adding a de-icer for the wiper, blind-spot monitoring, a power liftgate, parking sensors, and leather upholstery. Finally, Overland gives you premium features, such as a navigation system, a 9-speaker audio system, a sound-deafening windshield, and a memory driver's seat.

What powertrain options can I choose from?

If you are looking for power in an SUV, look no further than the powertrain options in the Jeep Cherokee. There are two engines you can choose from in the 2018 model. Both engines give you the option to choose between 4WD or FWD and give you a 9-speed automatic transmission. The 4WD option allows you the opportunity to choose between the driving systems. Active Drive I, and Active Drive II are really impressive, and Selec-Terrain comes standard with the trim model Trailhawk. The standard powertrain is a 2.4-liter Tigershark four-cylinder engine, giving you 184 hp and 171 lb-ft of torque. Along with this is great fuel efficiency, 21 miles per gallon city and 30 miles per gallon highway. This powertrain can tow up to 2,000 pounds. The other amazing powertrain is standard with the 4WD Overland and is the 3.2-liter V6 engine. This powertrain produces 271 hp and 239 lb-ft of torque. This much power is not usually compensated with such great fuel efficiency, but the 2018 Cherokee continues to surprise with 21 miles per gallon city and 29 miles per gallon highway. This engine tows up to 4,500 lbs.
