2018 Jeep Cherokee vs 2018 Honda CR-V near Wilmington, DE

If a new compact crossover SUV is the car you're searching for, you should be closely considering the all-new 2018 models of the Jeep Cherokee and Honda CR-V models. Jeep has revised its trim levels and added the Latitude Plus. Honda overhauled the CR-V in 2017, so very little has changed for this model year. Read more about both of these models below.

2018 Jeep Cherokee Power & Handling

The standard engine for the 2018 model is a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with 184-hp, 171 lb-ft of torque. There is also an option to select a V6 3.2-liter engine, which increases the horsepower and torque to 271 hp and 239 lb-ft. Both engines are offered with either front wheel or all-wheel drive, giving the buyer choices on handling. Both also come standard with a nine-speed automatic transmission. The Trailhawk edition trim is the unquestionable leader in off-road maneuvering, which features an advanced all-wheel-drive system, suspension tuning, and all-terrain tires.

2018 Honda CR-V Power & Handling

The Honda CR-V also comes with two engine options. The first is on par with Jeep's offering, a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with 184 hp, 180 lb-ft of torque. The second engine has less power than the Cherokee's, a turbocharged four-cylinder engine with just 190 hp, 179 lb-ft. The standard transmission for the CR-V is a continuously variable transmission paired with front-wheel drive.

2018 Jeep Cherokee Features & Design

The 2018 lineup of Cherokee models can be differentiated among five different trims: The Latitude, Latitude Plus, The Limited, Trailhawk, and the top tier Overland. Some of the standard equipment that you'll find include 17-inch wheels, xenon headlights, height-adjustable front seats, sliding and reclining rear seats with 60/40-split folding seatbacks, a folding front passenger seat with a storage compartment inside the seat cushion, Bluetooth, a rearview camera, a USB charge-only port, a 5-inch touchscreen interface and a six-speaker audio system. The Cherokee offers great comforts paired with updated technology for an overall exceptional driving experience.

2018 Honda CR-V Features & Design

Honda presents the CR-V in four defining trims: LX, EX, EX-L, and Touring. The base LX trim offers a fair amount of standard features including an electronic parking brake, 17-inch alloy wheels, LED running lights, automatic climate control, cruise control, a height-adjustable driver seat, a 5-inch  color LCD dashboard display, and a four-speaker audio system with Bluetooth and USB connectivity. To gain the benefits of Honda's advanced safety technologies, you must upgrade to at least the EX.

The Honda CR-V has some great features, but its base model, the LX is fairly primitive. In contrast, the 2018 Jeep Cherokee Latitude comes with several great base features and only improves the higher the trim. Jeep's array of options from powerful engines to off-road capabilities make it a true standout. To learn more, contact us below.
