When looking for the perfect pickup truck, there are many options available to choose from. Two such options are the 2018 Ram 1500, and the 2018 Chevrolet Silverado. The Ram 1500 is well-loved, citing a design that has withstood the test of time, and a ride that features a class-exclusive coil-spring rear suspension. There are even a few new upgrades for 2018, including two new trims, the Limited Tungsten and the Harvest, and a standard rearview camera on every trim level. The Silverado also adds a few new things to the 2018 model year, including a standard 7-inch touchscreen and a rearview camera that comes with every model, and a mild-hybrid eAssist package that you can now find nationwide. The Ram 1500 is starting out strong, offering multiple new standard features, and making sure the ride is as smooth as ever.

2018 Ram 1500 Power & Handling

Three amazing engine options are offered with the 2018 Ram 1500. This pickup truck features a standard 3.6-liter V6 that creates 269 pound-feet of torque and 305 horsepower. Another engine available is a diesel option, a 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 that produces 420 pound-feet of torque and 240 horsepower. The last engine option is a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 that generates 410 pound-feet of torque and 395 horsepower. Each of these engines can come in either a two-wheel drive configuration or a four-wheel drive configuration. The standard transmission is an eight-speed automatic, although, with the HEMI engine, you can choose the six-speed automatic. All of these engines are powerful and capable, offering you the best towing capability around!

2018 Chevrolet Silverado Power & Handling

The Silverado comes with three engine options, none of which include a diesel option. The base engine is a 4.3-liter V6 Flex-Fuel which creates 305 pound-feet of torque and 285 horsepower. Another one of the engines is a 5.3-liter V8 Flex-Fuel, producing 383 pound-feet of torque and 355 horsepower. The final engine is a 6.2-liter V8 Flex-Fuel, creating 460 pound-feet of torque and 420 horsepower. All of the engines can work in 2WD and 4WD. 2018 Ram 1500 Features & Design

A staggering eleven different trim levels are offered with the Ram 1500. Two of the bottom trims, the Tradesman and Express, are perfect for those truly looking for a workhorse! The Big Horn trim gives you a little bit of everything, featuring dual-zone automatic climate control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a 110-volt power outlet, a power-adjustable driver seat, and an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Two of the sportier models are the Sport and Night, which add a bit of flair, and include projector headlights and 20-inch wheels. One of the higher options, the Limited, includes side-step bars, a self-leveling air suspension, stitched leather upholstery, monotone paint schemes, and automatic high beams. The number of different styles you can find with the Ram 1500 is impressive, and there truly is a Ram 1500 for everyone.

2018 Chevrolet Silverado Features & Design

There are only six different trim levels offered with the Silverado. The Silverado WT, which is the base trim, offers a bed light, LED daytime running lights, a tilt-only steering column, a 40/20/40-split front bench seat, 17-inch steel wheels, a rearview camera, and cruise control. A more mid-level option is the Silverado LT, which includes carpeting, an 8-inch touchscreen, cloth upholstery, body-colored door handles and mirrors, satellite radio, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The highest option, the Silverado High Country, offers a six-speaker Bose audio system, front and rear parking sensors, ventilated front bucket seats, carpeted floor mats, and a spray-on bedliner. You can add more features, but they'll be found behind package options, instead of trim levels.
