2022 Grand Wagoneer vs Cadillac Escalade

Luxury SUVs always seem to have that special something, whether it be gorgeous interiors or advanced tech. It seems that everyone is excited to test drive thiers and take one home, but the question is which one is best? For our money, there are only two that you need to take a look at, the Grand Wagoneer and the Cadillac Escalade. The Grand Wagoneer has made its triumphant return with a solid V8 engine, tons of amazing tech, and one of the most gorgeous interiors we have ever seen. Countering this is the Cadillac Escalade, which comes with some heated second-row seats, a V8 engine, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on the Base trim. So which one has the advantage? For the answer, continue reading!

2022 Grand Wagoneer Power & Handling

The Grand Wagoneer comes with one engine, but it's a doozy! Under the hood, you'll find a 6.4-liter V8 that pumps out an amazing 471 horsepower and 455 lb-ft of torque and pairs with a wonderful eight-speed automatic transmission that is quick to respond. Looking to haul around that boat for a summer vacation? Then you're in luck! The Grand Wagoneer has an available Class IV tow hitch which allows the SUV to haul up to 9,860 pounds! If you want some added traction, the Grand Wagoneer has three available FWD systems and a Selec-Terrain System with five different modes tailored to driving situations. Four-wheel-drive also comes standard. You can truly go anywhere and do anything with the Grand Wagoneer!

2021 Cadillac Escalade Power & Handling

Unlike the Grand Wagoneer, the Cadillac Escalade comes with two engine options, and there is some power to be had here. It's a 6.2-liter V8 that pumps out an amazing 420 horsepower and pairs with an automatic transmission. You do have the option of a 3.0-liter turbodiesel that makes a decent 277 horsepower and also comes with an automatic transmission. Rear-wheel-drive comes standard, but the Escalade can be upgraded to a four-wheel-drive for added traction. Honestly, we like these engines, but the Grand Wagoneer is a touch more powerful!

2022 Grand Wagoneer Features & Design

One of the best things about the Grand Wagoneer is its luxurious interior made out of a combination of wood and aluminum. In addition, all of the seats are made out of premium leather which comes with a diamond interior pattern in the stitching and perforation. Features for the Grand Wagoneer are no less impressive. It comes with four-zone climate control, front seats with 24-way adjustability, massage functions, heating and ventilation, and seating for seven or eight passengers. Tons of available tech is available. In fact, you can get up to 44 inches of total screen space. This includes a 12-inch digital cluster display, a 12-inch center touchscreen, a 10-inch lower touchscreen, and a 10.25-inch front passenger screen. These are available with theatre-quality sound, which comes from the McIntosh audio system with 23 speakers and 1,375 watts of power. Each also gets the latest Uconnect system which comes with speeds up to five times faster than the previous version and includes Amazon Alexa integration, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

2021 Cadillac Escalade Features & Design

There are five available trim levels for the Escalade, and each one does have some neat features. Starting things out is the base luxury trim standard with full leather seating, keyless entry and ignition, heated front and rear seats, tri-zone climate control, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and front and rear parking sensors. Then there is the decent Premium Luxury trim which adds adaptive air suspension, a rear-seat entertainment system, and two performance packages that add more tech and performance-enhanced features. If you're really into luxury, you can opt for one of the higher trims, which offer you massaging front seats, a leather-wrapped instrument panel, and black wheels, and a gloss black trim. More features are available for the Grand Wagoneer.

Conclusion:

For us, this one is a no-brainer! The Grand Wagoneer has it all over the Cadillac Escalade with a more spectacular engine and tons more luxury and tech equipment. The premium Grand Wagoneer has finally arrived, and we are so excited for you to see it and take a test drive!
