Trim Levels of the 2019 Jeep Wrangler

The 2019 Jeep Wrangler is a midsized SUV that comes in two different configurations of body styles; either two-door or four-door. The two-door configuration is an option on three of the Wrangler's five trims; the Sport, Sport S, and Rubicon trim levels while the four-door configuration is available on all five.

More than just Sporty

The basic trim of the line, the Sport trim, may be the least outfitted, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't start things off with a good amount of features. Just the standard equipment that comes with the Sport trim includes a one-piece folding rear seat, steel 17-inch wheels, a steering wheel that tilts and telescopes, full-sized spare tire, cloth upholstery, skid plates, driver information display, tow hooks, a driver's seat that is not only height-adjustable but fitted with two-way lumbar support, fog lights, air conditioning, and a fold-down windshield. Addtitionally, the Sport trim comes with a five-inch Uconnect touchscreen that's been outfitted with an auxiliary audio jack, Bluetooth, USB port, rearview camera, and an eight-speaker sound system. Should you choose the four-door configuration at this trim level the Wrangle will also gain a slightly larger gas tank, a 60/40 rear split folding seat, and air conditioning.

The S is for Super

Taking a step up to the Sport S trim will net you all the standard Sport trim equipment then add on to it with vanity mirror equipped sun visors, alloy wheels, leather-wrapped steering wheel, air conditioned regardless of door configuration, alarm system, automatic headlights, heated power mirrors, and remote locking and unlocking.

The kind of Sahara we'd like to spend time in

Halfway up the trim ladder brings us to the Sahara trim. The Sahara trim is only available in the four-door configuration. But while this might technically mean there's one less option at this trim level, it makes up for it by adding onto the Sport S trim with an added USB port, 18-inch alloy wheels, an enlarged driver information display, exterior painted body panels, a 115-volt outlet, automatic headlights, automatic climate control, and an enhanced version of the Uconnect system that includes satellite radio, seven-inch touchscreen, and smartphone integration. For those who desire, the Sahara trim also has the option of a full-time four-wheel drive system with a lockable center differential.

Moab Please

Taking the Sahara trim and adding even more is the Moab trim. This trim level will see the addition of an 8.4-inch Uconnect system that packs special badging, onboard navigation, and a nine-speaker Alpine audio system in addition to unique black wheels, rear parking sensors, tires fit for muddy terrain, blind-spot monitoring; LED headlights, taillights, and fog lights; premium leather upholstery, rock rails, a rearview mirror with auto-dimming capabilities, front steel bumper, keyless entry, black-painted exterior trim, a hardtop in body-color, the full-time four-wheel-drive system, and a limited-slip differential.

The Only Con is in its Name

Last of the Wrangler's available trims is the off-road ready Rubicon. The Rubicon begins with the Sport trim's equipment then adds more to become one of the best off-roading SUVs available. These additional features include an added USB port, specialized off-road tires equipped to 17-inch alloy wheels, upgraded cloth upholstery, front steel bumper, a front roll bar that electronically disconnects, a Dana M210 front axle matched with an M220 rear axle, electronic front and rear lockable differentials, 4.10 axle gearing, and 4-to-1 low range gearing.

Customizable and Beyond

Many of the features that come standard on higher trims are also available as either stand-alone options or in group packages for the lower trim levels. Such optional features include the nine-speaker Alpine sound system, remote ignition, leather upholstery, heated seats, and the heated steering wheel. Every trim and configuration also has the option of choosing a high-quality soft top or a hardtop in either black or body-color options. Overall, each of the 2019 Jeep Wrangler's trims has a lot to offer, and with optional upgrades that allow for some features to be added without going up a full trim level or more, the possibilities of how you can personalize the trim of your choice are nearly endless. If the trim options and possibilities seem like something you'd be interested in, contact us or check out our review of the 2019 Jeep Wrangler to learn more.
